Baby, it's cold outside — by Hawaii standards

It was another cool night across the state — at least by Hawaii standards — with overnight temperatures in many communities hovering in the low 60s.
The coldest-spot award goes to Lihue, Kauai, where the mercury dipped to 59 degrees.
Other low temperatures reported to the National Weather Service were:
Kalaeloa, Oahu: 65.
Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station: 64.
Wheeler Army Airfield: 60.
Kaunakakai, Molokai: 60.
Kahului Airport, Maui: 66.
Hilo Airport, Big Island: 61.
Kona Airport, Big Island: 68.
At Honolulu International Airport, the overnight low was 65 degrees, which was far from a record.
The coldest Jan. 28 on record occurred in 1975, when the temperature dropped to 56 degrees. The average low for January is 65 degrees, according to National Weather Service records.
