Low income tax credit explained at free service

Free help will be available Saturday for low-income wage earners who may be eligible for earned income tax credits available from the federal government this year.

The help is being given by the Waipahu Community Association and Waipahu Weed & Seed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Waipahu Festival Marketplace, on the site of the former Big Way store at 94-340 Waipahu Depot Road.

Families who are eligible for the tax break may also qualify for free tax preparation assistance.

Those seeking assistance should bring relevant documents including proof of identification, Social Security cards and tax documents.
