A 69-year-old woman was seriously injured this morning when she was hit by a vehicle while crossing Ke'eaumoku Street near Ala Moana Center.

Police said a 73-year-old Honolulu woman was driving a 2006 Honda multipurpose vehicle south on Ke'eaumoku when the vehicle hit the pedestrian near the intersection with Rycroft Street at 6:05 a.m.

The pedestrian was in a crosswalk but may have been walking against the traffic signal, police said. Speeding, alcohol and drugs were not involved, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition with head and body injuries, but was upgraded to serious condition, police said. The driver was not injured.
