Weather: Mostly sunny days through the weekend

A high pressure area north of the state will produce moderate trade winds and a typical pattern of windward and mauka showers through the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

A shear line will move down the island chain from the north early next week, bringing breezy and gusty northeasterly trade winds and increased showers, mainly across windward and mauka areas, forecasters said.

Here's a closer look at what to expect as we head into the weekend:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 80. East wind between 8 and 11 mph.

Tonight: Isolated showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 73. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 81. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Saturday Night: Isolated showers before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. East wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 80. East wind around 14 mph.

Sunday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Northeast wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
