Maui visitor falls to death from Kaanapali hotel's 10th-floor balcony

LAHAINA, Maui — A 52-year-old California woman fell to her death yesterday from a
10th-floor balcony at the Westin Kaanapali Resort.
Police said the body of Laurie J. Brunner-Chapple, of Sunnyvale, was discovered near the hotel pool at about 4:16 p.m.
The woman suffered massive head trauma, and police said foul play is not suspected, although an investigation is continuing to determine whether the fall was accidental.
