Tour operators are offering deeply discounted packages to attract tourists to Hawai'i as the visitor industry continues to struggle through difficult times.

Pleasant Holidays this week announced a "Hawaiian Islands Getaway Sale" with three-night air and hotel vacations on O'ahu from $299.

Vacations include roundtrip airfare from Los Angeles to Honolulu, accommodations and fuel surcharges. Reservations must be booked by tomorrow for travel now through Feb. 28.

Additional three-night packages are available at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa from $416; the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa from $456; the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa from $493 and oceanfront accommodations at the Sheraton Waikiki from $499.

"These packages to O'ahu and Waikiki Beach are the best travel deal of the year," said President and CEO Jack E. Richards.

To make a reservation, visit the company's Web site at www.PleasantHolidays.com, or call 800-448-3333.

On Wednesday, the state reported that the number of visitors traveling to Hawai'i by air fell 10.6 percent last year.
