Camp with pros set

Former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Chris Fuamatu-Ma'afala and his staff will hold a football fundamental skills camp Sundays from Feb. 15 to March 22 at Kapi'olani Park No. 5.

The camp, which will teach fundamental skills, knowledge of the game and sportsmanship, is for youth ages 8 to 16.

Other staff members are Nate Ilaoa, Wes Keliikipi, Roy Ma'afala, Neil Rose, Brendon Agbayani, Roy Hardy, Konti Pellegren and Peter Salavea.

Making special appearances will be Jacksonville guard Vince Manuwai, Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Mel Purcell, as well as Tim Chang, Leonard Peters and Ma'a Tanuvasa.

The camp for those 8-12 will be from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. For those 13-16 will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

TRYOUTS SCHEDULED

Tryouts for those interested in participating in the Shockers Wood Bat Classic in Lynnwood, Wash., will be held Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Radford High's baseball field. Those interested should contact Dean Sato at dean.sato@hawaiiantel.net.

Sato is looking for 15 to 18 players who will showcase their talents in front of college recruiters, and major league scouts.

Travel dates are tentatively scheduled for June 29 to July 6.
