CBKB: San Jose St. defeats Louisiana Tech

RUSTON, La. — Adrian Oliver scored 15 points and San Jose State beat Louisiana Tech, 53-51, today.

Oliver hit two straight baskets to lift the Spartans (11-10, 5-5 Western Athletic Conference) to a 51-46 lead with 56 seconds to play.

Jamel Guyton hit a 3-pointer with 33 seconds left to pull the Bulldogs' deficit to 51-49. With 27 seconds left, Justin Graham hit two free throws for San Jose State to seal the win.

Magnum Rolle pulled the Bulldogs (2-8, 8-15) within two points, 53-51, on a layup with 18 seconds left, but missed a game-tying shot with 4 seconds left.

Rolle had 19 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks for Louisiana Tech, while Guyton added 13 points.

The Spartans shot 47.6 percent from the field (20 of 47), while holding the Bulldogs to 35.7 percent (20 of 56).
