Man charged in sex assault of 13-year-old girl

Advertiser Staff

A 46-year-old man remained in police lockup last night on charges of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, police say.

Felix Thaxton, of 2236 Kapiolani Blvd., was held in lieu of $250,000 bail after being charged yesterday for allegedly sexually assaulting the teenager on June 29. The man was charged with two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, two counts of sexual assault in the third degree, criminal soliciting and two counts of promotion of prostitution.
Hawai'i law says that first degree sexual assault occurs when a person knowingly subjects another person to an act of sexual penetration, or that person is under the age of 14.
