Hawaii teen says man tried to force her into prostitution

A 46-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl met the girl in Waikiki and then offered her a ride in his car before demanding that she have sex with him and other men for money, according to a police affidavit filed in connection with the case.
Felix Thaxton, of 2236 Kapiolani Blvd., was scheduled to make his initial appearance in District Court Monday morning. He was charged Thursday with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, two counts of third-degree sexual assault, criminal soliciting and two counts of promotion of prostitution for a series of incidents that allegedly occurred June 29.
Hawai'i law says that first-degree sexual assault occurs when a person knowingly subjects another person to an act of sexual penetration, or that person is under the age of 14.
According to the police affidavit, the girl told a sex crimes investigator:
Police said the girl identified Thaxton as the man who assaulted her when she was shown a photo lineup on June 29.
Thaxton went to the main police station at 3 p.m. June 30 and was arrested.
The booking sheet lists him as being 6-foot-1 and 260 pounds. The girl is a little less than 5 feet tall and weighs less than 100 pounds, police said.
