Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Former Kansas City Chiefs player Rich Baldinger has been charged with a misdemenaor traffic violation in a June car crash that killed a Grain Valley woman.

Baldinger was charged Monday with operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident.

Tammy Dickinson, chief trial assistant for Jackson County, said the penalty for the charge ranges from one day to one year in jail or a fine up to $5,000, or both.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol say 61-year-old Marilyn Walters of Grain Valley was killed June 27 when the car she was in collided with a car driven by the 49-year-old Baldinger in Blue Springs.

Baldinger, an offensive lineman, played from 1982 through 1993.
