What were you wearing on Statehood Day in 1959? We're looking for folks who donned some fabulous patriotic fashions for that auspicious day. Do you still have that stars-and-stripes mu'umu'u, patriotic pants or awesome statehood aloha shirt — or photos to remember them by? Send a photo and an e-mail to paularath@aol.com or call 595-4904.

MAUI DIVERS CELEBRATES 50TH

Maui Divers Jewelry is turning 50 right along with the state. To observe the anniversary, Maui Divers is introducing a Hawaiian Black Coral Collection featuring rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets and necklaces (at right). The collection comprises 14 pieces, with additional selections to be added throughout the year. The new line offers contemporary styles with stones set in 14k gold, some accented with diamonds. Prices range from $400 to $1,400. And note: Maui Divers Jewelry works with federal and state agencies to ensure harvesting of precious corals is done with minimal impact and allows for sustainability.

THE SKIN YOU'RE IN

The Murad skin care company is bringing its Skin Scope to Honolulu's Sephora stores. The Skin Scope, equipped with an ultraviolet light, reads factors such as sun exposure, dehydration, oil production and overall skin conditions. Users can look into a mirror and see exactly what the skin consultants see. "After the analysis, we offer an acne, environmental or anti-aging mini-facial. The facial will consist of a double cleanse, a mask/treatment and moisturizer. It's a great learning experience and a terrific way to address the clients' needs on a very personal basis," said Jeremy Apilado of Sephora Ala Moana.

The Skin Scope and mini-facial are free, with no purchase necessary. Murad consultants will be available from 1 to 7 p.m. July 17 and noon to 7 p.m. July 18 at Sephora Ala Moana. Phone 944-9797 for an appointment.

From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 19, they will be at Sephora Pearlridge. Phone 487-0660 for an appointment.

KI-ELE TRUNK SHOW

Shasa Emporium has moved around the corner in Kahala Mall, into a new space opposite Nine West. To help celebrate the move, jewelry designer Marylea Conrad of Ki-ele is holding a trunk show of her fall collection from noon to 5 p.m. tomorrow. Called Coral 2932 (because most of the prices range from $29 to $32), the beach-inspired collection features sterling silver, vermeil gold and red, cream and salmon-colored coral. Keep up with Shasa online at www.shasaemporium.com.

BABY BOOM

Wondering what to do with all those gently worn maternity clothes and keiki clothing and accessories? Here's a solution: the Rock 'n Swap Baby Boom and Keiki Festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., tomorrow at The Waterfront in Aloha Tower Marketplace.

It's a guilt-free way to get hip, trendy, fashionable mommies and daddies together for a party and swap. To participate, just bring bag(s) of clothes for a trade. In addition there will be a keiki festival featuring vendor booths, fashion shows, entertainment, food, snacks, games and contests. Entrance is $5 for adults, $3 children 6 and over, and free for keiki under 5. A $5 swapping fee will be applied to the entrance fee for those wanting to participate in the swap. Information: Call Rubi Etrata at 888-394-7927, Jaz Pascua at 216-5718 or visit www.rock-n-swap.com.
