Scavenger Hunt: People Out Supporting Hilo, or POSH, is putting on a scavenger hunt, open to everyone, to benefit Hawaii Island United Way. Pick up a map at businesses in downtown Hilo and collect items from 10 locations.

Businesses with maps will be identified by a distinct poster, which will also list all those involved in the hunt. Each business will have a small free gift and/or valuable coupon to offer as customer appreciation. The event promises games, contests and some surprises along the way. After completing the scavenger hunt, participants are eligible to win one of the prizes donated by each business including gift baskets, gift certificates and merchandise. Winners will be selected following the scavenger hunt and notified by the business that donated the item or items. The Downtown Hilo Hot Summer Scavenger Hunt is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 18 in downtown Hilo. Each business involved in the hunt will make a contribution to Hawaii Island United Way. 808-969-7888 or alohajan@hawaiiantel.net.
