Advertiser Staff

The Waianae Boys & Girls Club opened a professional-quality recording studio Saturday to help teens create professional demo records.

The facility will be used to help teens prepare for careers in the music industry. The studio also is open to the public for rent when not in use by the club.

The studio was built with city community benefits grant money and donations from Easy Music, City Mill, First Hawaiian Bank, Wal-Mart, Searider Productions, 'Olelo Television and Makaha Studios.

The Boys & Girls Club, on Plantation Road in Wai'anae, is available to children ages 7 to 17 for $1 a year. For more information, go to www.BGCH.com or call 696-2754.
