Race distance: 250 miles, 200 laps.

Last year: Carl Edwards, from Columbia, Mo., raced to his second victory in three years at the St. Louis-area track. Joey Logano finished second.

Last week: Logano won at Chicagoland Speedway, passing Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch with 25 laps left and holding him off on old tires over the final 10 laps at Chicagoland Speedway. Logano has three victories this season.

Fast facts: Busch, a five-time winner this year, leads the season standings with 2,931 points. Edwards is second with 2,739, followed by Brad Keselowski (2,597), Jason Leffler (2,527) and Logano (2,395). ... Sprint Cup drivers Kevin Harvick and Reed Sorenson, two-time winners at Gateway, are entered in the race. ... Brothers Kenny and Mike Wallace are from St. Louis.

Race distance: 225 miles, 150 laps.

Last year: Johnny Benson took the first of three straight victories en route to a five-win season and the points title. Michael Annett finished second.

Last race: Points leader Ron Hornaday raced to his second straight victory and third of the season, leading 175 of 201 laps June 27 at Memphis Motorsports Park. The 51-year-old Hornaday has a series-record 42 victories and three season titles.

Fast facts: Hornaday, the 2006 Kentucky winner, has 1,713 points. Matt Crafton is second with 1,637, followed by Mike Skinner (1,579) and Todd Bodine (1,564). ... Benson lost his ride this year when Red Horse Racing failed to find sponsorship, then was injured June 13 in a fiery crash in a Supermodified event in Michigan.

Schedule: Friday, qualifying; Saturday, qualifying (ESPN2, 7-9 p.m.); Sunday, final eliminations (ESPN2, 9 p.m.-midnight).

Track: Pacific Raceways.

Last year: Tony Bartone won for the first time in Funny Car competition, beating Ron Capps in the final. Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel) and Jason Line (Pro Stock) also won.

Last week: Capps topped the Funny Car field in the Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals, beating Ashley Force Hood in the final to tie her for the season points lead. Capps has five victories this season. Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Allen Johnson (Pro Stock) and Eddie Krawiec (Pro Stock Motorcycles) also won.

Fast facts: Capps and Force Hood have 965 points, 54 more than third-place Tony Pedregon. ... Brown leads the Top Fuel points race with 1,056, followed by Larry Dixon (940) and Schumacher (938).
