Liliha car fire appears to have been set deliberately

Advertiser Staff

Police opened an arson investigation last night after a woman’s car was destroyed by a fire in Liliha that appears to have been set deliberately.

Firefighters were sent out on a call a few minutes before midnight and found the car on Pua Lane completely destroyed by the fire, police said.
The woman, 34, parked the car legally and left it unattended, police said.
Firefighters called police after concluding the fire may have been the result of arson.
Damage to the car was estimated at $21,000.
No arrests had been made as of this morning and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
