Ah Mow-Santos, ex-college stars hold volleyball clinic

The second annual Olympic Volleyball Clinic for girls, featuring former University of Hawai'i star and Olympian Robyn Ah Mow-Santos, will be held July 23 to 25 at Radford High gym.

The event, presented by Extreme Fitness Club, also will feature former UH stars Tanya Fuamatu Anderson, Heidi Ilustre Boatright and Hedder Ilustre. Also assisting will be Fiona Nepo-Fonoti, an All-American who played for Nebraska, and Kamehameha coach Guy Kaniho.

Ah Mow-Santos, a three-time Olympian, helped the USA earn a silver medal in the Beijing Olympics.

For ages 8 to 14, the clinic will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 23-24 and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 25. For ages 15-18, the clinic will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 23-24 and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. July 25.

KA'ULUKOA'S BOYS WIN JR. OLYMPIC TOURNEY

The Ka'ulukoa Volleyball Club, coached by Pono Ma'a and Charles Jenkins, won the 2009 USAV Boys (13-year-old) Junior Olympic Championships on the Fourth of July.

The four-day tournament was held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The team finished pool play 9-0 and later beat Fusion of Puerto Rico, 25-19, 21-25, 15-8, in the semifinals.

In the championship match, Ka'ulukoa defeated Borinquen Coqui of Puerto Rico, 25-16, 25-19, to finish the tournament with a 13-0 record.

Team members were Keenan Meyer, Micha Ma'a, Taylor Wiens, Austin Amian III, Skylan Engleman, Evan Enriques, Noah Hayashida, Adrian Faitalia, Larry Tuileta Jr. and Ehu Ka'aa.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
