5 bottle redemption centers to close on Kauai for maintenance

LIHUE – The five HI-5 bottle redemption centers operated by Kaua'i Community Recycling Service will be closed for maintenance tomorrow through July 28 including: Hanalei, Kekaha, Kilauea, Koloa and Lihu'e (O‘ihana St.).

Normal operating hours at these sites will resume on July 29.

Those wanting to redeem their HI-5 beverage containers during the closures are encouraged to visit other bottle redemption sites around the island including: Kapahi, located at 5675B Kawaihau Road behind Menehune Food Mart; Lihu'e, Kaua'i Resource Center, 3460 Ahukini Road; Nawiliwili, intersection of Wilcox Road and Kanoa Street near the old Hale Kaua'i; and Lawa‘i, next to the Lawa‘i Post Office.
