JROTC cadets from Isles, Mainland gather for training

Marine Corps Base Hawaii will host about 90 Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps from high schools in Hawai'i and throughout the country.

Castle High School Marine Corps JROTC will conduct its Advanced Leadership Academy with cadets from Campbell, Kalaheo, Radford and Waimea high schools in Hawai'i and visiting schools from Japan, Las Vegas, Arizona, California and Idaho.

The cadets will participate in a variety of events. The cadets will work with Marines and sailors from throughout the base to include military police and their working dogs, Waterfront Operations and 4th Reconnaissance Battalion.

The students will conduct martial arts training, participate in water survival training, the rappel tower and many other exercises to further enhance their leadership abilities.

The program ends Sunday.
