Woman suspected of passing bogus bills in Kaneohe

Advertiser Staff

A 29-year-old Gentry Waipio woman was arrested early this morning after she allegedly tried to use counterfeit U.S. currency to make a purchase at a gas station on Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe.

Police were called to the station about 3 a.m. and were told by a 53-year-old woman who works there that the customer tried to buy merchandise with what appeared to be counterfeit bills.
The employee handed the suspect cash over to police who arrested the woman on suspicion of first-degree forgery and three criminal contempt of court warrants stemming from other unrelated incidents.
