Twins’ RHP Slowey says he will miss rest of season

Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Twins right-handed starter Kevin Slowey says he will likely miss the rest of the season after having surgery to fix a bone chip in his right wrist.

Slowey told reporters before Monday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox that the operation requires two to four months of rehab and recovery.
Slowey (10-3) says he had a bone chip that was aggravated when he was hit by a line drive during a start last September. He pitched with the injury until July 3, when he left a game after three innings. He went on the disabled list the next day.
