Rescuers airlift injured hiker from valley's Kalalau Trail
Kaua'i County fire rescue personnel airlifted an injured hiker out of Hanakoa Valley on the island's north shore Sunday evening.
The hiker, a 29-year-old Kalaheo man, was with a friend on the Kalalau Trail when he was injured.
The man was flown to Princeville Airport about 5:31 p.m., and paramedics then drove him to Wilcox Hospital.
