The Pickle Lady appears in Waipahu Wednesday

Lenora Ching, author of "The Pickle Lady's Pickle Passion" will give a free presentation at the Waipahu Public Library at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Ching will share her passion for pickles, give a cooking demonstration based on her cookbook and prepare simple recipes using economical, everyday activities. She'll also invite the audience to taste samples.

Ching is known for pickling and preserving a variety of foods, including fruits, vegetables, eggs and shrimp, and has appeared on the TV show "Local Kine Grinds."

The program is recommended for ages 12 and up. Contact the
library as soon as possible if a sign language interpreter or other special
accommodation is needed.

Waipahu Public Library is located at 94-275 Mokuola Street, next to the
