Lana continues on west-northwest path far south of Hawaii

Tropical storm Lana continues to move west-northwest on a track far south of Hawaii.

The Central Pacific Hurricane Center’s 11 a.m. report put Lana about 640 miles southeast of Hilo and moving at about 16 mph.
The hurricane center said it expects Lana to keep moving west for the next couple of days. It says the area of strongest winds should pass well south of Hawaii in 36 to 48 hours.
