AlohaCare awards grants for $40K to 8 organizations

AlohaCare has announced grants totalling $40,000 to eight nonprofit organizations as part of its annual Community Conscience Award program.

Grants went to Aloha United Way, the American Lung Association of Hawai'i, Ethnic Education Foundation of Hawai'i, Five Mountains Hawai'i, Maui Economic Opportunity, the National Kidney Foundation, Special Olympics Hawai'i and YMCA of Honolulu.

Each organization got $5,000, and will use the grants to fund programs that enhance the health of children.

AlohaCare is a nonprofit health plan and was founded 1994.
