Letter Blocks Web project helps get kids interested in reading

Advertiser Staff

Barnes & Noble has debuted Letter Blocks, a new blog on its bn.com Web site that offers advice and family-friendly recommendations for how to interest children in reading, stories for young readers and insights from authors.

Through August, bn.com/letterblocks will serve as an extension of the Barnes & Noble 2009 Summer Reading Program, with celebrity guest bloggers contributing on a wide range of topics — memories about the first books they read, their reading milestones, their favorite children's books and how they got their own children to read. First up is Rick Rioardan, author of the bestselling "Percy Jackson & The Olympians" series.
