UH's Zemljak, Stanford's Shoji, McLachlin on MPSF academic team

University of Hawai‘i sophomore Nejc Zemljak was named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball academic all-conference team.

Zemljak started 12 matches at setter and played in 21 matches, averaging 9.72 assists and 1.80 digs per set. Zemljak played in a total of 59 sets. He was the only UH player named to the team and his grade point average was not released.
The be eligible for the academic team, players had to be a sophomore academically, have at least a 3.0 grade point average, completed one full academic year and must have played in 50 percent or more of the team’s games.
Players with Hawai‘i ties named to the academic team were Stanford’s Kawika Shoji (‘Iolani, 3.59), Jordan Inafuku (Kamehameha, 3.40) and Spencer McLachlin (Punahou, 3.13), UC San Diego’s Will Ehrman (Punahou, 3.13) and UC Irvine’s Brent Asuka (‘Iolani, 3.11). UC Irvine won this year’s NCAA title. Stanford led the league with seven academic selections.
