In observance of the American Hiking Society's National Trails Day, the Na Ala Hele program is sponsoring a guided hike tomorrow on the Kahakapao Loop Trail in the Makawao Forest Reserve.

Registration is required and limited to the first 60 participants.

The 2.5-mile hike, rated at an intermediate level of difficulty, will start at the 2,800-foot elevation and climb to 3,800 feet before looping back down. Participants should wear sturdy shoes and bring water, snacks, rain gear and sunscreen.

Na Ala Hele is the state Division of Forestry and Wildlife's trails and access program, under the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
