State seal now on 42 companies

 • Seal of Quality a boost for Isle farms

Started in 2006 by the state Department of Agriculture, the Seal of Quality program grew from 12 original companies to 42 current and more pending. They include a variety of produce, plants and island-made products.

FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

  • Nalo Farms (Waimanalo): gourmet salad greens

  • Kamiya Gold (La'ie): premium papayas

  • Ho Farms (Kahuku): colorful tomatoes, long beans, long eggplants and Japanese cucumbers

  • Twin Bridge Farms (Waialua): asparagus

  • Hamakua Springs Country Farms (Hilo): tomatoes on the vine, cocktail tomatoes, Japanese cucumbers and other seasonal vegetables

  • Wailea Agricultural Group (Honomu, Big Island): fresh heart of palm

  • Hamakua Heritage Farms (Laupahoehoe, Big Island): gourmet mushrooms

    SEAFOOD & MEAT

  • North Shore Cattle Co. (Hale'iwa): grass-fed Angus beef; lean ground beef, filet mignon and andouille beef sausages

  • Hukilau Foods (Honolulu): fresh fish, moi grown in specially-built fishponds

  • Marine Agrifuture (Kahuku): sea asparagus, ogo

  • Kona Pacific Farmers Cooperative (Kona): pure Kona coffee, pure Hawaiian coffee and raw, dry roasted and candied macadamia nuts

  • Aikane Plantation Coffee Co. (Ka'u, Big Island): Ka'u coffee

  • Athena of Hawai'i (Kona): pure, 100 percent Kona coffee from an authentic Hawaiian family farm

  • Mountain Thunder Coffee Plantation (Kona): 100 percent Kona coffee and 100 percent organic Kona coffee
