With an uncanny ability to create scoring opportunities either on a grass field or in the swimming pool, Punahou's Aisha Price was a rare combo athlete who excelled in two very different environments.

In soccer, Price established her extremely powerful and accurate throw-in as a signature move feared by opponents and revered by spectators. It was a unique weapon that produced many goal opportunities for the Buffanblu, often resulting in a score.

That includes the only goal in this year's state championship game.

She was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player and then was selected as Advertiser State Co-Player of the Year.

In water polo, Price was an ILH all-star first-team selection as a sophomore and the league's Co-Player of the Year as a junior. She was named the state tournament's Most Valuable Player after helping Punahou win the title last year, and this season she scored four goals in the state championship game to help the Buffanblu win their second straight title.

Her versatility outside of sports is just as impressive.

Price carried a 3.9 grade-point average, volunteered to feed the homeless during Thanksgiving, was a volunteer teacher's aid for Stevenson Middle School's ESL program, volunteered at Palolo Chinese Home, the Great Aloha Run and Special Olympics, and served as usher, youth group member and vacation Bible volunteer at First Presbyterian Church.

Price also played a major role in organizing a campus fundraising effort that raised $2,770 for earthquake victims in China.

She will attend Harvard University and continue to play soccer and water polo while planning to study business and Chinese language.
