BEND, Ore. — The hunt for treasure buried in Oregon is over.

Hawaii resident Dakotah Lee Yarborough was sentenced Monday to five years in prison for stealing $2 million in gold, silver, jewelry and coins from his former stepmother’s home in Bend.
As part of his agreement to plead guilty, the 44-year-old helped investigators dig up the loot he’d buried in Central Oregon.
Detective John Lawrence says that, after the snow melt, about $240,000 in gold coins and jewelry was recovered Friday near Tumalo Falls.
Lawrence says investigators now believe they’ve gotten all that can be recovered.
Last month, Bend officials told residents they could stop digging. But Lawrence says that despite some talk about it, police never saw residents getting shovels out.
