Nearly 3,000 bought 76-cent L&L plate lunches

Advertiser Staff

The 4th annual L&L Drive-Inn/L&L Hawaiian Barbecue 76-cent plate lunch/10-cent Pepsi drink promotion on Tuesday sold a record amount of regular-sized plate lunches at the Ke’eaumoku Street (in Wal-Mart) location.

About 3,000 customers bought the specially priced plate lunches with the line wrapping around the building. The first customer, Rod Nakamatsu, waited since 2 a.m. for the lunch deal. Nakamatsu was also the first person in line at last year’s 76-cent promotion.
Goodwill Industries of Hawaii received a $4,000 check following the promotion.
