Blanton, Lyau to run cross country camp

The Aloha Cross Country Camp, directed by Chet Blanton and Jonathan Lyau, will be held from July 29 to Aug. 2 (5 days and 4 nights) at Camp Timberline in Makakilo.

The camp is for incoming high school runners of all ability levels.

Fee is $400 and deadline is July 1.

UPCOMING

The 2009 USA Hockey Inline Summer Showdown, featuring about 200 players ages 6-19 in five divisions from four islands, is today to Sunday at Kaoma'aiku Neighborhood Park in Mililani. Games will be played from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow with championship games Sunday from 9 a.m. to noon. Any team that wins a championship will have an opportunity to compete on the Mainland in the Western Region.

The Derrick Low-'Iolani Basketball Clinic is tomorrow at the school's upper gym. There will be sessions from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. The clinic is open to boys and girls 8-17. Fee is $40. For details, e-mail ryan252004@yahoo.com.

The Sole Fundamentals Basketball Camp is June 15 to 19 at La Pietra School's gym. One session, for boys and girls grades four to seven, will be 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Another session, for those eighth to 12th grades, will be 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Cost is $100.
