Eugene Tupuola remained in a police cellblock last night after being arrested on charges of attempted murder.

Tupuola, 40, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Friday in Kapolei. Honolulu police say he showed up at a June 4 party that his estranged wife was attending. He asked to speak to her and they began to argue, police said.

A relative came out to diffuse the situation, but was unable to calm the couple, police. Tupuola then allegedly brandished a handgun and fired one round through a window, police said.
