Soccer: Clemson coach resigns following arrest

Associated Press

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson's longtime soccer coach Trevor Adair has resigned two months after his arrest.

The school announced Adair's resignation Tuesday. Adair was arrested in April after police said he attacked his two teenage daughters. He is charged with two counts of assault and battery. The cases are pending.

Adair had coached at Clemson 14 years, leading the Tigers to nine NCAA tournament trips. Adair's team reach the tournament's final four in 2005.

Adair thanked the Clemson community. He said in a statement the time was right to seek other opportunities in coaching.
