NBA: Former Jazz coach Layden released from hospital

Associated Press

SALT LAKE CITY — Former Jazz coach, general manager and team president Frank Layden says he has been released from the hospital, where he had been treated for a blood clot in his left lung.

Layden says he was in intensive care for about two days following his hospitalization late last week, though he says that is routine. He says he's feeling much better now.

The blood clot developed after Layden had pneumonia.

Layden says he is remaining on medication and checking in regularly with his doctors.

Layden was NBA Coach of the Year in 1984.
