Advertiser staff

Families with children seven years and older are invited to explore Portuguese history, language and culture in this one-day-only workshop on July 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hawaii Plantation Village.

Portuguese history and language professors, comedian and educator Frank De Lima along with Portuguese entrepreneurs will give presentations and speak about what it is to be Portuguese. Along with the presentations, families will be given the opportunity for hands-on experiences in creating Portuguese art and dance. All materials will be provided.

The workshop will be presented by the Hawaii Council on Portuguese Heritage. Registration is necessary. Pre-registration, which includes lunch from Agnes' Bake Shop, ends today, but you can still register to attend the workshop until July 10.

For questions and more information, call Carole Aloha Hope at 457-8075. For registration, call Willetta Centeio at 845-1616.
