HILO — Hawaii County police are investigating suspicious injuries to a 6-month-old baby.

Police were called to North Kohala Community Hospital shortly after 5 a.m. today after doctors examined a baby boy and determined he had sustained injury to his brain.
The baby and his mother were flown to Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children so the infant could receive further treatment.
