Light scattered showers expected today

The trade winds are back in force and are expected to hang around a while.

Showers brought on by the trades will continue to moisten windward and mountain areas and at times some leeward sections of the islands, the National Weather Service said.
A weak, lower-atmosphere weather system is approaching the Big Island today and will pass south of the other islands Saturday, forecasters said.
The fresh trade winds will be maintained into next week by a strong high pressure area that becomes nearly stationary far north of the islands.
