Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i County police are investigating a home invasion robbery in the Fern Acres subdivision in Puna.

A 43-year-old man reported that two masked men entered his house Tuesday after kicking open the front door.

The resident told police he was bound with duct tape and that the robbers threatened him with sticks while demanding money and marijuana.

Upon finding the victim's marijuana plants, the robbers cut and stole buds from five plants.

The robbers also took an unknown amount of dried marijuana and some cash and coins.
