U.S. Olympic gymnasts guest of Island Twisters

 • Waipahu mother will go fishing for $1 million

Samantha Peszek and Bridget Sloan, members of the U.S. Olympic women's gymnastics team that won a silver medal in Beijing, will hold an autograph session 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Hawaiian Island Twister's gym.

The Olympians and their coach, Marvin Sharp, will be guests at the Hawaiian Island Twisters Summer Gymnastics Training Camp, which is being held Monday to next Friday. Joining Sharp will be HIT coaches Joe Rapp and Mik Nelke, and coaches from Washington, Alaska, and Colorado.

The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to competitive female gymnasts who are training Level 5 through elite. An afternoon at Wet'n'Wild Hawai'i is also included in the $300 camp fee.

Girls and boys age 5 and older with some or no experience in gymnastics are invited to attend HIT's Recreational Summer Camp, which will be held July 13 to 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants can attend on a daily or weeklong basis.

The autograph session and the camps will be held at the HIT gym, 1151 Mapunapuna St., D3A. The gym is inside a mall previously known as Ranch 99 Market. For information, call 839-4494.

SCOTT'S HAWAI'I/KAILUA VBC VOLLEYBALL IN JULY

The fourth annual Scott's Hawai'i/Kailua VBC Volleyball Tournament will be held July 17-18 at McKinley High gym.

The six-man indoor tournament features round robin play and is open for men's open and A divisions.

Entry Fee is $75 per team. Entry deadline is July 13.

HALOS YOUTH TACKLE FOOTBALL REGISTRATION ON

The Hawai'i Athletic League Of Scholars will hold registration for its no-weight limit, youth tackle football league.

Age group divisions are 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.

Registration fee and documents are being accepted until July 3 for $250. After July 3, the fee will be $300.

The season will be held from Sept. 5 to Nov. 7.
