Slack-key guitar virtuoso Danny Carvalho launches a free 16-stop library tour today to offer teens “A Demonstration of Kiho'alu.”

The 18-year-old’s CD “Somewhere” was nominated for best slack-key album at this year’s Nä Hökü Hanohano Awards. Carvalho, who has been playing since he was 9, will perform and discuss other slack-key guitarists who have influenced his music.
The tour is part of the Reading Rocks @ Your Library teen reading program. Today he’ll perform at 3 p.m. at the Kailua Public Library at 239 Kuçulei Road. At 1 p.m. tomorrow, he’ll be at the Kaimukï library at 1041 Koko Head Ave.
For more information, including the schedule of events, visit www.librarieshawaii.org or call the Kailua (266-9911) or Kaimukï (733-8422) public libraries.
