Surf of 5-7 feet expected along east shores today

Advertiser Staff

Trade-wind driven surf of 5 to 7 feet is expected today along the east-facing shores of Oahu, the National Weather Service said.

Elsewhere, expect surf of Surf along south facing shores will be 1 to 3 feet with occasional 4 foot sets along south-facing shores; 1 to 2 feet along west-facing shores; and 2 feet or less along north-facing shores.
Outlook through Saturday, June 27: Long-period forerunners from the next significant south swell are expected to arrive late today.
This swell will persist all week, building to near the 8-foot high surf threshold by Friday. Breezy trade winds have produced short-period surf for the east-facing shores. Surf heights however, should remain below advisory level of 8 feet.
