Keokea Beach Park plans to be presented to public

Advertiser Staff

The Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a public meeting Friday to present conceptual plans for Keokea Beach Park's earthquake restoration and accessibility improvements. The meeting will run from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kohala Intergenerational Center.

The department is especially interested in hearing from people with historical knowledge of the area who can contribute to a cultural assessment being prepared for the project.

Other topics to be discussed include the Hisaoka Gym restoration project and the Kamehameha Park accessibility improvements project, repairs to playground equipment at Kamehameha Park and other projects in North Kohala.

For more information, call park planner James Komata at 961-8311.
