Advertiser Staff

Lana'i Public & School Library will celebrate its Children's Summer Reading Program by offering a free hands-on demonstration of "The Folk Art of Chinese Paper Cutting" with Barbara Chung Ho.

The event, recommended for 7 and older, will take place at 11:30 a.m. July 2 and is in character with the program's theme, "Be creative @ your library."

Chung Ho will share a brief history of the folk art and present a step-by-step demonstration on the basic techniques of Chinese paper cutting. Children will have the opportunity to learn the craft using supplies that will be provided.

The presentation is sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawai'i.
