Breezy winds, a few showers expected today

Fresh to locally strong trades continue across the main Hawaiian islands bringing showery conditions to windward and mountain locations, the National Weather Service said.

The windward side of the Big Island has had persistent showers over night and some locations around Hilo have measured 1 to 1.5 inches in the past 12 hours, forecasters said.
Elsewhere across the island chain scattered light rainfall amounts have been reported on windward Maui and Oahu. Kauai has been dry so far with limited cloud cover. An additional area of clouds just upstream of the islands will likely bring another round of showers to windward and mountains locations with a few showers blowing over to the leeward side during the morning hours.

Here’s how the middle of the week is shaping up on Oahu:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 84. Breezy, with a east wind between 22 and 26 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. Breezy, with a east wind around 21 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 84. Breezy, with a east wind around 22 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. Breezy, with a east wind around 21 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 83. Breezy, with a east wind between 17 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Thursday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. East wind around 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
