NEW YORK — Celebrity parents Jon and Kate Gosselin say they plan to divorce.

The co-stars of "Jon & Kate Plus 8," who are parents of sextuplets and twins, spoke of their decision to separate during last night's episode of the TLC reality series. A title card near the end of the episode summed things up: It said that yesterday, "legal proceedings were initiated in Pennsylvania to dissolve the 10-year marriage of Jon and Kate Gosselin."

The Gosselins said the show would continue, with Jon and Kate filming interviews and activities with their children separately.

The network had been promising a major on-air decision from the couple, whose increasingly troubled marriage has dominated the series in recent weeks, as well as fueled a firestorm of tabloid coverage.

BROWN GUILTY IN ASSAULT ON RIHANNA

LOS ANGELES — Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault on pop star Rihanna.

Brown entered his plea before a preliminary hearing was scheduled to start in Los Angeles yesterday. Rihanna had been on standby to testify.

Brown will be sentenced on Aug. 5, but the terms of the plea deal call for him to serve five years of formal probation and six months of community labor in the form of graffiti removal or roadside cleanup.

The judge also ordered the singer and Rihanna to stay at least 50 yards away from each other, except at industry events when the distance is reduced to 10 yards.

Brown was arrested Feb. 8, hours after police say he hit and threatened Rihanna after leaving a pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles.

Walters' interview with O'Neal airs Friday.

Fawcett was diagnosed in 2006 with anal cancer that has spread to her liver. The "Charlie's Angels" star and O'Neal have a 24-year-old son, Redmond.
