Breezy trades to hang around for a bit

A high pressure area far north of the islands will keep trade winds blowing today, the National Weather Service said.

The trades will be breezy at times through the weekend, forecasters said.
An area of low pressure at higher elevations may keep the weather a bit showery through tomorrow. Showers will be most frequent over windward areas, but some rain will spread leeward on the smaller islands.
Locally heavy showers over the Kona slopes are possible this afternoon and evening.

Here’s what to expect during the next few days:

Today: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind between 14 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. East wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 80. East wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. East wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 79. East wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. East wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
