THIS IS HOW IT'S GOING TO BE

Fans are waiting with bated breath (we don't know if they're actually holding their breath, but Third Eye Blind fans have been known to go a little crazy) for the San Francisco band's fourth studio album, "Ursa Major," which is slated for release in August.

Until then, catch the guys in concert Saturday night at Pipeline Cafe and see if there's any truth to the rumor that a fifth album of songs — called "Ursa Minor" — that didn't make it on to the Ursa Major album will also be released this year.

DEPP DOES DILLINGER

On a roll playing bad-guy roles, Johnny Depp adds gangster to his list of villain portrayals. With looting pirate and murderous barber already under his belt, Depp takes on the notorious John Dillinger in "Public Enemies," which opens Wednesday.

ANNA'S HOUSE OF BLUES

Anna Bannana's hosts the 2009 Summer Oahu Blues Bash from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday. It's five bands playing five hours of blues jams for five bucks. High five! There is parking next door at the Japanese Cultural Center.

Bar and club workers who can also spike a volleyball will compete from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Saturday at Queen's Surf Beach in the Hawaiian Championship event of the 2009 Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup. Winners get a fistful of cash and the chance to complete in the national event.
