High surf advisory issued for southern shores

The National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for Hawaii's southern shores untill 6 p.m. Sunday.

The surf along south facing shores will be 8 to 12 feet this afternoon and will then diminish to 5 to 8 feet on Sunday.

The advisory means that large, breaking waves will occur, producing dangerous rip currents.
